Electrics
When it comes to the electrical elements in your van it is vital that it is all
done correctly and to the right spec required. We have a policy at Exploria
not to interfere with any factory wiring looms. The reason for this is that as
vehicles get more advanced, so does the wiring system. Interfering with
this can cause catastrophic problems. Besides this, if you do have an
electrical problem, having them on different systems ensures a quicker
diagnosis.
We have an in house VW Master Tech Technician who has 14 years
experience of working on VW Transporters. This allows us to be able to
read vehicles’ diagnostics and re-program vehicles’ electrical systems if
required. We also have an in house Auto Electrical / Audio technician with
over 20 years of experience who has built vehicles for the likes of
Kenwood, Alpine, and various other audio brands. Coming from the
performance show / car audio scene means that he is more than capable
of the job and that installation is to the highest and neatest of standards.
We have direct supply from many large electrical distributors and audio
equipment suppliers, meaning the latest products at the best prices.

Deciding on what electrical equipment to add to your vehicle can be
difficult, especially if you have not had one before. However, it’s essential
to get it right as it’s the “first fix” in the vehicle before anything else is
added, such as sound proofing or ply lining. We normally start the process
by identifying how you intend to use the vehicle and what your
requirements are. From this we can design the electrical system custom
made to your requirements and your vehicle. Often customers are not
aware of the range of options available nor the implications of getting it
wrong. For example, a customer wanting to free camp for a week without
moving and with a compressor fridge and lighting in the van won’t last
very long on an 80 Amp battery!
To give you an idea of some of the things we offer listed below are some of the popular options:
- Under floor batteries – Dual + leisure batteries
- 240v hook up and internal sockets
- In board / out board generators
- Solar panels
- Split charge relay systems
- LED lighting – various styles and methods used to achieve your lighting requirements
- Security devices from trackers, security switches, alarms
- In-car audio systems
- Inverters
- Refrigeration systems
- Media systems – TV screens and Tuners, DVD
- Hands free phone systems
- Smart phone controlled heating systems
Due to the varied requirements, unlimited options and vehicle application,
all of our electrical installations are priced per request and so we don’t
offer ‘standard packages’ as such.
