Primarily designed as a business vehicle with generous load space and seating for 5 or 6, the Kombi is also a favourite among outdoor enthusiasts. Its flexible layout makes it perfect for a custom conversion, allowing you to tailor it to your lifestyle. Whether that means hauling tools or heading off-grid.

The Kombi 68 is a multi use Kombi Van built on a 6.8 meter long, long wheel base MAN TGE.

 

What Options are available for a Kombi Conversion?

We start with an fully crash tested and certificated set of rear seats. This gives a usuable and versatitle vehicle.

Usually we would configure a vehicle with 2 single front seats on MAN factory swivels. In the rear you would have a set of 3 seats with intergrated bulkhead. The vehicle would have side windows and twin side loading doors.

Kombi Conversions can be thought of in 2 areas.

The front cab and passenger area at th front of the vehicle and the rear laod space

To what level you would like each area finishing is personal choice.

We would recommend a ply lining to the rear of the vehicle and a ply floor as a starting point. This protects the vehicle from internal damage from items inside.

We have further options to use carpet lining, fabric lining and waterproofing coatings.

We would discuss with you what would work the best.

Everyone knows it is important to be able to see what we are doing.

We offer a range of standard fit lighting, as well as custom options. Usually our lights are switched from appropriate locations and mostly on 2 way switches.

Elevating Roof

A Elevating roof is a great way of adding extra sleeping space to a vehicle without effecting the internal layout.

The Atek elevating roof is perfectly suited to fit on a standard wheel base van but they can also be installed on a LWB van.

With a hatch type entry you gain a large comfortable sleeping area on top of the original roof. 

Delivered in white Exploria would recommended colour coding with vehicles body colour.

We offer a range of bulkheads to suit your needs. Some bulkheads are ‘off the shelf’ bulkheads and others are custom made. Bulkheads can be trimmed and lined to suit the rest of the vehicle so that it is in keeping with the internals, or lined specifically for the required use. Our customers have various reasons for requiring a bulkhead, some of which are listed below:

  • Keep a clean travelling area separate to the work/tool area
  • Keeping heavy items where they should be in the event of an accident
  • For mounting equipment to
  • Offering a waterproof area in the rear of the vehicle to house wet or dirty equipment
  • Custom shaped to mount specific equipment
  • Keeping pets separate in the rear
  • Removable bulkheads to offer a dual purpose vehicle

Full waterproof linings are available if required. We use various materials from GRP to sprayed rubber linings. Please contact us for further details.

As part of a line out there are a number of additional items, you may want to consider. Let us know what you have in mind and we can help and advise on what is worth considering while lining out your vehicle. Popular items include:

Cab Upgrades

Steering wheel trimming, cab headlining upgrades, and dash door trimming are all possible options to add some luxury to your pride and joy.

 

Vans have to deal with alot while travelling on the roads and living outside.

Soundproofing and insulating a van is one of the best ways of making it a nicer place to be. Essentail if sleeping inside. It isnt all about travelling though it is very benefitcal for noise and temperature regulation while travelling too.

Exploria use a sound deading matt carefully placed to bodywork panel, we next do a 2 stage soundproofing and inuslation process to fill cavities in panels and doors to ensure the vehicle is as well covered as possible.

The load space in the rear of our kombi conversions is a multipurpose space suitable for carrying a wide range of items.

 We us a waterproof spray lining to coat the ply lining panels and flooring. This creates a protective urethane layer capable of withstanding the hardest of conditions.

The load space is capable of swallowing alot and we have various options which can be used to help make the most of the large area. Everything from load security eyelets to motorbike mounts and shelving units.
