Audio Media upgrades can be a confusing and complex area to navigate. Knowing what is compatible with your vehicle and what might be needed to achieve the level of sound quality you are looking for can be a hard thing to work out.

Here at Exploria we find splitting things down into a few sections makes understanding options much easier.

From our years of experience we have chosen to stock products we know work well and aim to simple upgrade options, helping us to deliver the best audio media options possible.

When it comes to high end audio Audison are Exploria's go too amplifier and speaker brand of choice. The performance, tuning and support we have with Audison are second to none. We are proud to have professionally tunned systems built for our conversions.

The latest VW Transporter T6.1 now features a dash aperture capable of taking the amazing X903DU. This has a super clear 9” touch screen and function buttons down either side of the screen. This makes usability super easy.

Exploria have developed a fascia unique to ourselves which allows this unit to be flush fitted into the dash of the T6.1’s. This is a brilliant factory look and feel to this aftermarket upgrade.

The X903-DU is the 3rd generation Alpine style navigation system offering extensive media options including Apple Carplay and Android Auto. TomTom maps and 3 years free updates.

Just like the X800 series we have extensively installed into T5.1 and T6 models, the X903 is brilliant as a stand-alone head unit upgrade, or the centre to a full, in-van entertainment system.

With HDMI input and output, streaming from an HDMI device is possible, directly to the unit and can be sent to a roof monitor too!

The largest that will fit in the dashboard facia of the T6 model. The head unit can be cleverly installed with a tilt on the screen giving the optimal angle to reduce glare and give the best view. This is a massive advantage over factory units and others on the market.

With built in Sat Nav, Bluetooth connect and Apple car play/Android Auto, the X803 has you covered for daily use and performance. Throw in high end audio output, split screen functionality for audio and navigation to appear simultaneously, HDMI input and output which can be teamed with a large range of devices for in van entertainment, and you have a market leading system.

Other cheaper head unit upgrades are available, but offer limited functions and upgrades over factory fitted stereos. We find the savings are short lived and you are left wanting more, so in the long run it is more cost effective to spend the extra and get the best system you can.

The catchily named INE-F904D is also know as the “Alpine Halo 9”. Predominantly designed to offer advanced phone mirroring for use while driving, it features a large 9” screen which sits proud on the dash, giving the high end “dash mounted tablet” featured on some high end cars. 

It has many of the feature of the X803 including touch screen, bluetooth, Apple Car Play and Andriod Audio. In Exploria’s experience, this unit is best suited for customers using their T6 as a car and want the larger prominent screen for phone mirroring. For most other application and in campers, the X803 is the best in class.

Alpine Halo 11 is the second generation of Alpine’s world-famous Halo product line, featuring a gigantic XXL 11-inch high-resolution WXGA touch-screen and is compatible with virtually any vehicle with 1DIN or 2DIN installation dock.

This Head Unit looks great in your lastest crafter and MAN TGE campers.  The super-slim display appears to simply hover over your dashboard and can be adjusted in various ways for the best position.

Front speaker upgrade

Alpine have produced a great aftermarket product as a direct fitment made specific for the Transporter T6 / T6.1 and Crafter / Man TGE. This option is a quality cost effective way of Replacing the low end commercial vehicle spec front door speakers and tweeters. Alpine have gone that extra mile and produced specific tweeter covers that also enhance the cab area.

These speakers improve the sound greatly however if you want a massive change in sound quality look at our premium amplified systems.

DRC AC – remote “one simple switch with a lot to offer”

This is a fully programable remote control done on installation and just doesn’t have one purpose and these purposes can be fully customised. In our typical application the remote allows you to alter subwoofer volume, control volume, change the source i.e vehicle stereo to B-con (Bluetooth) and one of the best features is to alter the staging of the sound. The staging of the sound can be set for the usage and number of occupants for example a setting for Driver only, camping setting, multiple occupants driving and Theatre is a typical set up. All these sound profiles are specifically tuned to the size of vehicle, listening positions and purpose of the audio.

B-CON – “streaming device and more”

This unit offers great Bluetooth quality when paired with an audison amplifier. It also allow you to contact various other products to your sound system such as Tv, projector and other Bluetooth devices. B-con also allows you to pay your favourite audio through your sound system without the need to have your stereo turned on, (when paired with our audison amplifiers). This is great when using factory stereos where they run off the vehicle battery and turn off every 20mins when the can shuts down.
